Jay Opetaia, IBF cruiserweight champion of the world, believes the division is in its heyday right now.
"Even in the days when the absolute champion in the cruiserweight division was Oleksandr Usyk, it wasn't as much fun here as it is now. All because almost all the top fighters back then were Europeans, and they didn't speak English well, and it was hard to sell them to American viewers. Now the cruiserweights are having a heyday. I don't want to brag, but I'm the one who has been the impetus for this blossoming. I am building this new era with other fighters from England, with the support of his Excellency Turki Al Al-Sheikh," Boxing Scene quoted Opetaia as saying.
