Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are gearing up for a boxing match on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The fight, sponsored by Netflix, pits the 58-year-old "Iron Mike" against the 27-year-old "Problem Child" in an unusual matchup.
Logan Paul, Jake's brother, recently hosted Tyson on his "ImPaulsive" podcast. The two chatted for nearly 45 minutes in a friendly conversation, which is rare considering they're from opposing camps.
During the podcast, Logan shared some surprising information about Jake. He revealed that his brother once wanted to be a Navy SEAL and "kill people on behalf of his country" in high school. This revelation might worry some boxing fans. Logan also said he's "very nervous" for Tyson.
Tyson, however, isn't taking Jake lightly. He told Logan:
"I take him extremely serious. These people (fans and analysts) don't take him serious."
Tyson's cautious approach comes from his life experiences. He believes anyone can be dangerous, saying:
"You should be apprehensive for anyone."
The fight was originally set for earlier, but Tyson had an ulcer flare-up, pushing it to November. This health issue might have made Tyson even more careful in his approach.
Jake Paul is coming into this fight with momentum. He recently won against bare-knuckle fighter Mike Perry and claims he'll make $40 million from the Tyson bout.
The 31-year age gap between Tyson and Paul is hard to ignore. But if Tyson is truly taking Jake Paul seriously, as he says he is, this fight could turn out to be more than just a money-making event. It might actually be an exciting match to watch.
