Joshua: "If you don't defend the belt, it's taken away from you."

Anthony Joshua, former world heavyweight champion, has reacted to Oleksandr Usyk's decision to leave the IBF world heavyweight championship belt vacant.

"It's a good thing. The IBF is doing what it does. Daniel Dubois is the reigning champion and I was called upon to do my job. The problem is that Usyk has a mandatory rematch and the IBF says he has to defend his title, right? If you don't defend the belt, they take it away from you. It's a common situation in boxing and I'm next in line. The fight with Otto Wallin made me a contender," Joshua told YouTube channel The Stomping Ground.
