Gvozdik didn't think Berinchik would be given the win in his fight with Navarrete

Former world light heavyweight champion Alexander Gvozdik commented on the victory of Denis Berinchik over Emanuel Navarrete.

"It seemed to me that they would not give it to me. I think Denis won this fight, but I know from experience how it happens when a foreigner comes to the United States, boxing a Top Rank boxer on a Top Rank show. I didn't expect Denis' hand to be raised. You can see if you look at Denis' face when the result was announced - even for him, to some extent, it was a surprise. I too, like everyone else, thought that the victory would not be given away. Denis won, but there was no total advantage. It was a fairly even and competitive fight. I thought that they would raise their hand on the other side. But it happened as it happened, and that's very good."".

Recall, Berinchik beat Navarrete by split decision of judges and became the WBO lightweight champion of the world.
