The 29-year-old was previously the interim WBC champion, but his status changed after Crawford's decision. Such a decision could be the reason for Pac-Man's return, and it's one that Barrios himself is very much looking forward to.

"I will be very excited to make this fight. Manny is a future member of the Hall of Fame and a true boxing legend, so it will be an honor to share the ring with him. Another dream of mine could come true," Barrios said in anticipation.

"We will try to finalize the idea within two weeks," added Sean Gibbons, Pacquiao's longtime advisor.
