Hearn explained why Canelo's fight with Benavides didn't happen

The famous British promoter Eddie Hearn told why the fight between the absolute world champion in super middleweight Saul Alvarez and undefeated David Benavides never took place.

"Canelo as the current world champion has his own terms that he wants to get. He respects Benavides as a fighter and is willing to accept the challenge, but it has to be on his terms. Canelo really wants the lion's share of the fee. Given his status, I believe he feels entitled to expect it," Fight Hub TV quoted the functionary as saying.

Recall, Benavides in his next fight will meet with Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvozdyk. At stake in this confrontation will be the belt of the interim world champion in the light heavyweight version of the WBC.
