Edwards – Covington: Thompson named his favorite

Former UFC welterweight title contender Stephen Thompson made a prediction for a title fight between the division champion Leon Edwards And Colby Covington.

“I like Edwards. We saw what happened in the fights between Covington and Usman, didn't we? Colby had a hard time recovering from these losses.

To be honest, I think Edwards is the best welterweight at the moment. I feel that the fight will go the distance. The guy has the best defense against takedowns, even Usman couldn’t break through it,” Sportskeeda quotes Thompson.

Let us remind you that the fight between Edwards and Covington will headline the UFC 296 tournament, which will take place on December 16 in Las Vegas. As part of the same event, Thompson will fight with the undefeated Kazakh Shavkat Rakhmonov.
