South African UFC Middleweight Drycus Du Plessis spoke about the desire to fight with the New Zealand Nigerian Israel Adesanya, holding the division title, at a tournament in Africa.
“Now that I have earned the title of the main contender for the title, I have the opportunity to properly prepare for the fight. And also put forward your own conditions. I have always been a gambler. When they offered me a fight with Whittaker, it took me no more than a minute to agree. I just asked for the place and time.
I am absolutely determined to fight Adesanya, but now I want it to happen in Africa. I want to promote this idea. I think it's possible," Du Plessis was quoted as saying by MMA News.
