Jaron 'Boots' Ennis plans to move up to the super-welterweight division. The unified welterweight champion will vacate his IBF and WBA titles at 147lbs and make his debut at 154lbs later this year.

Ennis became a unified world champion at welterweight when he defeated Eimantas Stanionis. The fight ended with Stanionis' corner stopping the contest, adding the WBA belt to Ennis' IBF strap. Before that, he scored a knockout win over David Avanesyan.

Now, 'Boots' will step up to face new challenges. One potential opponent has already put his name forward - WBC super-welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora. At 6ft 6in, Fundora stands as the tallest world champion in boxing. He recently beat Tim Tszyu by seventh-round retirement at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Before that fight, Fundora spoke to DAZN about potential opponents:

"Whoever comes. Whoever is the better decision at the time. Ennis is a champion, he's already a champion, a unified champion, so we'll see. Whoever looks nice. Maybe the Ennis fight because he's already a unified champion and established already."

Another fighter who's shown interest in facing 'Boots' is knockout artist Vergil Ortiz. He's made it clear he'd love to step in the ring with Ennis.

With his move to super-welterweight, Ennis opens up a new chapter in his career. Boxing fans will keep a close eye on who he faces in his 154lb debut.
