Devin Haney (30-0, 17 KOs) is considering the possibility of changing the weight category and holding a fight with the WBC world champion in super lightweight Regis Prograis (28-1, 24 KOs). The 24-year-old boxer is also expected to announce a partnership with Matchroom Boxing in the near future.

Haney currently holds the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF lightweight titles. Having won against Vasily Lomachenko last week, the American fulfilled his contract with Top Rank by becoming a free agent.

Haney's relationship with Bob Arum after this performance was not the best, because the head of Top Rank believes that the Ukrainian was better in this fight. Haney in this situation can return to cooperation with Hearn, who was the boxer's promoter in 2019-22.

As part of the Matchroom deal, Haney can first cross gloves with Prograis and then fight Ryan Garcia. Having decided to take this step, the American will most likely leave all titles in the weight category up to 61 kilograms vacant.
