Parker is back with a first-round stoppage

At a boxing night in Melbourne, Australia, former heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (32-3, 22 KOs) stopped Faiga Opela (15-4-2, 11 KOs) in the first round. This was the second appearance of the New Zealander in the ring after losing to Joe Joyce.

On the same evening, New Zealander David Nyika (6-0, 5 KOs), bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, added another victory in the first heavyweight to his track record, stopping Louis Marsters (3-5, 2 KOs) in the fourth round.
