Adesanya's coach believes Pereira was given a title shot early

Eugene Berman, trainer of UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, believes the promotion was rushed by giving Alex Pereira a title shot so quickly. According to the expert, this became possible only due to the fact that there is already a history between the fighters. Israel and Alex met twice in the ring according to kickboxing rules and both fights were won by the Brazilian.

“He wouldn’t have had a chance to get a fight if there wasn’t history between them. That's funny. It's just ridiculous that someone can get a title shot so quickly. They have their own history, and the UFC has its own. I understand that Dana White has to promote the fights. This is what they do really well. The UFC jumped on this story thinking it would be a great fight that would get a lot of attention. Therefore, Alex got the opportunity to compete for the title ... ".

Recall that the confrontation between Adesanya and Pereira will be held on November 12 and will head UFC 281.
