Due to the Russian invasion, Bogachuk spent the last months in his native Ukraine, where his brother also fights in the Ukrainian army. Bogachuk recently received special permission from the government of Ukraine to represent his country and continue his boxing career in the United States.
After a year of inactivity, Bogachuk hopes to continue his victorious path in the pro ring. In his last fight in September 2021, he knocked out Rafael Igbokwe in the sixth round.
