After Saturday's victory over Joseph Parker Joe Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs) challenged the WBO, WBA and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs). Boxers have already had the opportunity to meet each other in Olympic boxing. Then the Ukrainian won, but, according to Joyce's promoter Frank Warren, the rematch in the professional ring will end with a different result.
“No one wants to fight Joe right now,” the head of Queensberry Promotions said in an interview with IFL TV. - If I were Usyk, would I want such a fight? I know their history from amateur times, but it was in amateurs - look at the dimensions of Joyce!
“Honestly, I don’t know how Usyk would have beaten him. He will try to fight technically, but Joe will eventually break him, he is so big! He won't let him go. Usyk will have a lot of problems with him, ”added Warren.
Thanks to the victory over Parker, Joyce became the mandatory contender for the WBO belt owned by Usyk, but there are more WBA and IBF contenders in line for a chance at the championship, who have priority over the Briton.
