Deontay Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) praised Andy Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs) for defeating Luis Ortiz (33-3, 28 KOs). He and the Mexican may cross gloves next year. Ruiz Jr. and Ortiz met in the semifinals of the WBC eliminator. Wilder will perform in the second pair. His opponent on October 15 in Brooklyn will be Robert Helenius (31-3, 20 KOs).

“I expected a good fight, and it turned out like that. Ortiz didn't throw enough punches, he was too careful, he should have let go of his hands. But also words of recognition from Andy, because he gave a really good fight. It looks like our paths will cross again,” said the Bronze Bomber.

“If Fury refuses to fight Usyk, and hearing about his financial requirements, you might get the impression that Usyk’s team knows how to find me. I came back to gain weight and make this division exciting again. Do not hesitate, I am ready for everything, ”added the ex-world champion, who has sat on the WBC throne for more than five years.
