Khabib Nurmagomedov, a former UFC lightweight champion, spoke out about bookmakers. He noted that his Eagle FC promotion would not cooperate with bookmakers, comparing the stakes to drug addiction.

“We have good enough sponsors with whom we can enter, make tournaments. We don't need bookmakers. I think it's even more dangerous than alcohol. It's even worse than advertising alcohol because the bookies ruin entire families. You yourself know how many families there are where young guys enter this platform, stay there, become dependent. You know what a strong disease it is - gambling. It's the same as drug addiction. It's the same if I advertise drugs here. For me, gambling and drug addiction are on the same level. It's all addiction."

Recall that Nurmagomedov ended his fighting career in October 2020.
