Former WBA regular heavyweight champion Lucas "Big Daddy" Brown brought new life to his boxing career in his hands, or to be more precise, in his right hand, by stopping Junior Fa in the first round of their fight on the undercard of the evening Kambosos vs Haney last Sunday.

A clear outsider, the 43-year-old Australian shocked his opponent with a right blow to the temple, from which Fa was on the canvas. Fa was able to get up, although he remained visibly shaken and the referee somehow allowed him to continue. Some time later, Fa missed another right hand and the meeting ended after just a few seconds.

“I know that if I bring my right hand to the target, the fight will end there. Somewhere along the line, I may have become too kind, trying to box more than knock out. Going into this fight, I knew I wanted to get back to what I do best, which is to send to the floor, ”said Brown.

“I appreciate the opportunity that Lou DiBella gave me and after winning, I have already been contacted by some of the biggest promoters in the world. My time has come, let's see what offers we have. I have never been afraid to go abroad, most of my big fights have been there. But it was also nice to win such a big fight in front of the native fans who supported me,” Brown said.

“The first blow hit him on the temple, and he completely lost his balance. I didn't want the fight to continue because he could get seriously injured. The second blow with the right, unfortunately, is already on the referee's conscience. I wish Fa all the best in his career. We talked after the fight, I have great respect for him. I reminded him that two fights ago the same thing happened to me. Never write yourself off in boxing if you have faith in yourself and power in your hands,” added Brown.
