Rivas vs Jennings for the WBC Bridger Belt in Montreal in summer

Bryant Jennings and Oscar Rivas

Oscar Rivas (27-1, 19 KOs) and Bryant Jennings (24-4, 14 KOs) will challenge the vacant WBC world title in the newly created bridgerweight category. This was announced by Mauricio Suleiman, president of the World Boxing Council.

The fight will take place on June 18 at an event in Montreal, Canada. According to Suleiman, the terms of the battle have already been agreed. This will be the first championship fight in the 224 limit.

Rivas, 33, returned to the ring in mid-March after an eighteen-month hiatus. Jennings hasn't boxed for almost two years. The fight will be a rematch for Rivas' TKO victory in the twelfth round in their duel in January 2019.
