Two-time Olympic champion and world champion in two weight divisions as a pro Guillermo Rigondeaux (20-1, 13 KO) defeated Liborio Solis in Allentown last Saturday and won the "regular" WBA bantamweight belt. Now Cuban wants to face WBA and IBF 118 champion Naoya "Monster" Inoue (19-0, 16 KO).
"We're starting to hunt the Monster. We want to fight Inoue for a full-fledged title. I used to fight opponents who were bigger than me, now I am in my weight category. Inoue fight against Nonito Donaire was great, they're both great fighters. I am ready to meet both of them, and Bob Arum knows what I'm doing with my opponents," 39-year-old Rigondeaux said.
In April 2013 Jackal won the very prestigious fight against Donaire, who was considered one of the best P4P fighters in the world at the time. In November last year 36-year-old Filipino brought a lot of trouble to the Monster in the final of WBSS tournament. 26-year-old Japanese in spite of the eye socket fracture won the classic war and strengthened at the top of P4P rankings. In April Inoue faces WBO champion John Riel Casimero, after that perhaps Rigondeaux could become his opponent.
