Lebedev may resume his career

The former cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev of Russia plans to resume his career. Lebedev announced his retirement in July. "Denis could resume his career for the sake of the fight against Ilunga Makabu," said the representative of Lebedev's boxing team. On the Match TV channel Lebedev also expressed a desire to return to the ring.

Ilunga  Makabu in last fight defeated Alexey Papin of the Russia. Currently, the Congolese boxer has a silver WBC title. Another option for Lebedev's return is Beibut Shumenov of Kazakhstan.

"In the case of Denis' return he could also fight Beibut Shumenov. It would be a version of the farewell fight for him," said Vadim Kornilov, Lebedev's manager.
