Serious injury, long rehabilitation and a nearly two-year layoff must affect everyone. Keith Thurman (29-0, 22 KOs) was no exception, and had a very difficult fight with crazy Josesito Lopez (36-8, 19 KOs). But Thurman managed to defend his welterweight WBA belt.
Thurman gained applause and appreciation of nearly 10,000 audience gathered at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. After the last bell, the judges scored it in favor of the title defender – 113-113, 115-111 and 117-109.
