Sergiy Derevyanchenko of Ukraine commented on the defeat by split decision to Daniel Jacobs in the meeting for the vacant IBF belt. And Derevyanchenko expressed hope for a rematch.

“It was a very close fight. I felt that I inflicted damage on him in each of the rounds, I controlled what was happening. Maybe I could act a little better with a jab and work more to the body. It was a great fight. He is an incredible opponent and I would like to meet him again as soon as possible," said Derevyanchenko.

After 12 rounds, one of the judges gave the victory to Derevyanchenko 114:113, and the other two gave it to Daniel Jacobs 115:112 twice. Thus, Jacobs became the new IBF world champion.
