On July 22 Gassiev lost to Alexander Usyk, losing his WBA and IBF cruiserweight titles. Usyk, who owned WBC and WBO belts became the undisputed champion and the winner of the Mohammed Ali Trophy, which is awarded to the WBSS winner.
