Duva: Bivol is the future of the light heavyweights

Kathy Duva, the head of the promotion company Main Events, told that a variant of the fight between WBO Light Heavyweight Champion Eleider Alvarez of Colombia and WBA belt holder Dmitry Bivol on December 8 in the United States is being worked out.

Bivol defeated Malawian Isaac Chilembu by unanimous decision on Saturday in the United States. After the fight, Bivol told that he was very interested in a fight against Alvarez, who took the WBO belt from Russian Sergey Kovalev. According to the contract for the fight with Alvarez, Kovalev has the right for rematch, which he wants to take advantage of.

"It's too early to talk about it, but it's one of the options that I'll be working on," Duva said, answering the question about the possibility of Bivol and Alvarez bout on December 8. "Bivol is a very talented boxer who has conducted a very competent battle against the skillful and experienced Chilemba. He is the future of the light heavyweights and he will probably be world champion for a long time, given his age."

Kathy Duva is the promoter of Kovalev and Chilemba, and also was the organizer of the last battles of Bivol.
