Vasily Lomachenko (10-1, 8 KOs) scored a TKO victory over Guillermo Rigondeaux (17-1, 11 KOs) after the Cuban refused to continue the fight after the 6th round, citing the left hand injury.
The fight took place with the full advantage of Lomachenko, who did not give any chance to his colleague on two Olympic medals, not lost since 2003. Already in the second round Rigondeaux began to desperately clinch and hold Lomachenko with both of his hands.
In the fifth round Rigondeaux added to his tactics of holding a bow below the belt, clearly trying to avoid the fight. In the sixth round, Rigondeaux was fined for one point for the constant holding.
In the break after this Rigondeaux refused to continue the fight.
Thus Rigondeaux became the fourth opponent of Lomachenko in a row, who said no mass.
After the battle, Lomachenko said that this victory is not an outstanding achievement for him, since Rigondeaux is "king in two weight categories below" and for this fight came up in two weight categories.
In his turn Rigondeaux said that he did not see anything special in Lomachenko, but lost only because of a left hand injury, which he hurt in the 2nd round.
