Legendary British boxer, former absolute world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis explained why his rematch with Ukrainian Vitali Klitschko did not take place. Lennox was asked on social media why he "conveniently" ended his career instead of a second fight with Klitschko Sr. and here's what he said:

"Maybe so. I agreed to the Klitschko fight to push back my retirement. It was always going to be my last fight. I thought about fighting him again, but stuck to the original plan," Lewis wrote on his social media X.

The fight between Lewis and Klitschko took place in June 2003 and ended with the Briton winning by TKO in the sixth round. At the time the fight was stopped due to a serious dissection in Vitali, he was leading on the judges' scorecards.
