UFC lightweight Benoit Saint-Denis of France has spoken out about his bout with former interim division champion American Dustin Puryear, which takes place March 9 at UFC 299 in Miami.
"I was insanely happy when the fight with Puryear was offered. He's a tough guy, there are a lot of tough fighters in our division in general, especially in the top 5. A lot of people are surprised that we're going to make the fight. But I think our weight is one of the few where it's really incredible to face a top-five ranked opponent after five straight early wins. I'm very happy to get this fight.
Of course, I always have a plan for the fight. However, you can plan as much as you want, but when you start getting punched in the face, at that moment you don't know if your plan will work or not," Daily Mail quoted the Frenchman as saying.
