"I want to fight Corey Sandhagen. I think it's going to be a contender's fight. I came out for the fight despite the injuries. I wasn't 100 percent healthy. I performed about 50 percent," Umar said after the fight.
The confrontation between Nurmagomedov and Almakhan took place on the night from March 2 to 3 at UFC Fight Night 238 and ended with the victory of Umar by unanimous decision of the judges.
Earlier, Nurmagomedov expressed hope that after the victory over Almakhan, he will significantly improve his position in the rankings of the lightweight division.
