Dricus Du Plessis, the current UFC middleweight champion, does not plan to fight at the 300th anniversary event.
“I think UFC 300 will be a huge event and it would be great to be a part of it. Anniversary tournaments like UFC 100, UFC 200, and now UFC 300 are always huge events with big pay-per-view sales, there's a huge buzz, and I'd love to be a part of it, but not this time. If I participate, it means I won’t go into the fight completely healthy, and defending my title is more important to me than participating in this iconic event,” MMAFighting quotes Du Plessis.
