Recently, rumors appeared on the Internet that the famous Kazakh boxer Gennady Golovkin will head the NOC of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Today the organization officially commented on these rumors.
“...The process of electing the governing bodies of the NOC of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a structured multi-level procedure. The first stage includes elections in National Federations for Olympic sports, where representatives of the sports community of each sport elect the leadership and governing bodies of their National Federation. After this, National Federations participate in the elections of governing bodies of the NOC... The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan expresses particular concern about the possible misrepresentation of information on the part of various “experts” and calls for caution in public comments to avoid distorting the views of the general public, spreading false information and expressing unfounded ratings,” the statement reads.
