Derevyanchenko names the favorite for the Usyk-Fury fight

Ukrainian veteran middleweight Sergey Derevyanchenko analyzed the upcoming fight between his compatriot Alexander Usik and British Tyson Fury.

The meeting of these fighters, which will determine the first absolute world heavyweight champion since 1999, will take place on February 17 in Riyadh.

— I give a slight advantage to Fury. Although I think he lost in the previous fight. This is my personal point of view. I think if he looks the same against Usik, then Alexander should pass him.

But we still have to give credit to Ngannou. He's very big, very strong, and has a very powerful punch. Usyk has completely different strengths. He has strong footwork. He moves great. The question is how he will use them against Fury, given that he is shorter and has a smaller reach.

The question is how he will “pull” Fury on his feet, how he will “pull him out” onto himself...

— And you will also have to work at close and medium distances.

- And one moment. If he works close and then tries to “break” the distance, then Fury can catch him with his long arms. Therefore, I still bet that Usyk will maneuver more and use the angle of attacks.

Fury has good defense. I call him the “octopus.” He uses a lot of feints, and with his constant movements he can confuse his opponent. It will not be easy for Usyk to break through this defense.

It might be even more accurate to say that the odds in this fight are 50/50. Both have their trump cards. “Both have something that can help them win,” Derevyanchenko said.
