Covington is no longer interested in fighting Whittaker

Contender for the UFC welterweight title Colby Covington spoke about a possible fight with the promotion's former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker. Colby stated that he was not interested in such a fight because Robert no longer had the championship belt and he was beaten in a challenger fight.

“This fight is no longer relevant, it doesn’t make sense to me. I am the best in my division and will soon become a champion. So I want the biggest and best fights the UFC has to offer. The management knows my position, so they won’t even waste my time...” said the fighter.

Let us remind you that on December 16, Covington will fight with Leon Edwards, the current UFC welterweight champion. This confrontation will headline UFC 296.
