Caio Borralho was born on January 16, 1993, in São Luís, Maranhão, Brazil. Raised in an academic household, he began tutoring mathematics and chemistry as a teenager and initially studied industrial chemistry at the Federal University of Maranhão before leaving university to pursue a career in mixed martial arts. Borralho’s early martial-arts foundation included judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu; he moved to São Paulo to train full time and later helped establish the Fighting Nerds team.
Borralho turned professional after an amateur run in 2014 and built his record on the Brazilian regional circuit before appearing on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2021. After a unanimous-decision win over Aaron Jeffery and a follow-up first-round TKO of Jesse Murray, he earned a UFC contract and made his promotional debut soon thereafter. Known for a methodical, well-rounded approach and a southpaw stance, Borralho combined grappling control with improving striking as he stepped up in competition.
Since joining the UFC, Borralho has risen into the middleweight rankings with a series of high-profile wins and performance bonuses, including notable victories over established opponents and multiple post-fight awards. Competing out of Fighting Nerds in São Paulo, he is recognized for his cerebral fight style—often called “The Natural”—and for blending technical grappling with pressure striking, a combination that has positioned him among the division’s rising contenders.
