UFC French lightweight Benoit Saint-Denis has admitted that he would like to share the octagon with Armenian Arman Tsarukyan.

"A dream fight? I would really like to face Tsarukyan. It would be a classy fight. It's clear that right now he's the main challenger, but Makhachev is not the most active champion. I don't know if he'll still be champion after the fight with Puryear, but either way he'll probably want to rest.

A lot of things can happen at lightweight. If they gave me a fight with Tsarukyan that would be ideal. But I don't do matchmaking and negotiations," MMA Junkie quotes Saint-Denis as saying.

Recall that in his last fight, which took place on March 9 at UFC 299, Saint-Denis lost by knockout to Dustin Puryear.

Charles Oliveira, former UFC lightweight champion, commented on his loss in his bout with Arman Tsarukyan.

"Man, actually, I should have knocked Arman out or had a submission hold. But that didn't happen. If I were the judges, I would point out that I had close attempts to end the fight with a takedown. I had three attempts - one in each round. And Arman was just stalling to finish the fight. He had a good second round, he tried to hit me with an elbow. But when it comes to the judges' decision - you shouldn't cry or think about it. I had a chance to finish Arman in every round. But he managed to escape and survive. It happens," Oliveira told Full Violence.

Charles Oliveira, former UFC lightweight champion, once again commented on his loss in his bout with Arman Tsarukyan. The Brazilian noted Arman's "big heart".

"Of course, in the first round he needed a lot of courage to get out of the hold. In the second round, Arman was lucky that it was the end of the round because the reception was very tough. And in the last round I really thought he fell asleep, because I was pressing hard and Tsarukyan didn't move. His body collapsed and was lying on the ground. But man, it turns out this kid has a big heart," Oliveira told Full Violence.

The fight between Tsarukyan and Oliveira took place on April 14 at UFC 300 and ended with Arman winning by split decision.

Arman Tsarukyan, the No. 1 ranked lightweight in the UFC, has spoken out about the upcoming boxing bout between legendary Mike Tyson and blogger-boxer Jake Paul. According to Tsarukyan, Tyson has a chance of winning given the rules under which the fight will take place.

"So they only agreed to punch to the body ... Under such rules, I think Tyson will win. After all, even 50-60-70 years old coaches when they show the reception, speed, clarity, strength remains the same, because they have done it millions of times," Tsarukyan said on Main Event Podcast.

The confrontation between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will take place on July 21 in Arlington (USA). Earlier it became known that the fight will be of an exhibition nature.

Arman Tsarukyan, the number one UFC lightweight ranking, named his favorite fighter as a child. According to Arman, he admired not Fedor Emelianenko, but Khabib Nurmagomedov.

"No. Khabib. When I was growing up, Khabib was in his peak form. Do we communicate with him? No, we know each other, but I don't know him too well. I can't call him and tell him anything. We're not friends. But I really like his behavior, his lifestyle," Tsarukyan said in an interview with Michael Bisping.

Earlier, Tsarukyan announced his rating of the best MMA fighters in history, putting Jon Jones in first place. Khabib in this rating was only in fifth place.
