“It was tough. Both losses were to tough guys. I didn’t have a big amateur career, two amateur fights, two wins. Back then, MMA wasn’t that big, I immediately faced tough opponents. And I learned a lot.
I still love MMA, I still love to compete, but after the second loss I was down and thought: “Is this really what I want to do?”. My coach said: “Don’t let this affect you. You are much better. Those were tough fights,” said Maddalena in an interview with West Sport.
