Charles Oliveira, a contender for the UFC lightweight title, expressed his opinion on why Islam Makhachev vacated the belt in this division and moved up to welterweight.
“I see the reason in weight cutting. I have seen this a couple of times. I was at the same tournament and saw how he cuts weight. It’s brutal. I saw how exhausted he is. He wants to be in better fighting shape and that’s why he decided to move up. I think he will be much stronger,” Oliveira said on the MMA Today podcast.
