Shields recalled how Diaz slapped Khabib

Former UFC fighter Jake Shields talked about the long-standing conflict between former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Nate Diaz.

“Nate and Khabib had a long-standing feud. One time Nate even slapped Khabib. It was at my fight; they both came to the arena. Khabib was taking pictures but then started arguing with Diaz, trying to make him look foolish. And then Nate approached him and slapped him. I literally saw it happen during the fight. I thought, ‘Oh crap, my friends are getting into it.’ But, of course, I was busy with my own fight. I had a personal relationship with Khabib, but Nate is my friend, so I took his side,” Shields said during his podcast.
