Strickland suggested Du Plessis fight only in the standup, the champion responded

Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland has approached current titleholder Dricus Du Plessis with a surprise offer.

"Listen, Dutchman, I need you to act like a goddamn man and fight in a stand-up fight, not crawling on your knees. We need to fight like men. I know you like to fight and choke people and stuff like that. I suggest you make a pact with me - we'll get in the rack and settle this shit man-to-man," Strickland wrote in X.

"There can be no treaties between lions and men," Du Plessis responded emphatically.

As a reminder, Du Plessis and Strickland's rematch will headline UFC 312, which takes place Feb. 9 in Sydney, Australia.
