Freire has been fired from the PFL

Donn Davis, founder of the PFL league, announced that Patricio Freire, Bellator's featherweight champion, has been fired by the PFL after the league absorbed Bellator.

"We're letting Pitbull go. PFL is an opportunity. I started this company to create new opportunities for the best fighters and the PFL will continue to do that for those top fighters who want to be here," the functionary wrote on social media.
