Dominick Cruz has stated that the recently announced fight with Rob Font will be his farewell fight.
"For me, it's like this. It's not because of mentality and it's not because of skill. Yes, I lost my last fight, but I was in that fight every minute of it. The moment I got finished, I was going in for the kill myself. I was in the fight, tried to finish the guy, got injured, and it led to an early loss. I looked at that fight and said to myself, 'OK, don't be too hard on yourself - it's part of the game and these things happen.' I fought a competitive fight, I wasn't slow, and all my skills are still with me. The question is, can I get through training camp without injury? Camp is the hardest part. We all know that."
