A rematch between Du Plessis and Strickland will headline UFC 312 in Australia

UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis and former belt holder Shawn Strickland will rematch in the main event of UFC 312 on Feb. 8 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.

Du Plessis and Strickland met for the first time at UFC 297 in January of this year - the confrontation ended in a split decision victory for Drikus. In August, the South African successfully defended his title with an early decision over former division leader Israel Adesanya.

The promotion also announced that women's bantamweight champion Waley Jean will defend her belt at UFC 312, facing Tatiana Suarez.
