UFC American lightweight Michael Chandler has revealed that he seriously injured his knee before his fight against Charles Oliveira.
The American lost to the Brazilian last weekend as part of the UFC 309 event in New York, USA.
"I didn't want to talk about it before the fight because if I lost, it would be taken as an excuse. But I have a knee injury - I tore or torn two ligaments and had to be out for four to six weeks.
I didn't want to withdraw from the fight because I knew that if I won, I would be fighting for the title. I did physical therapy every day, tried to train through the pain, but I still went 15-20 days without training for a total of 15-20 days. I trained with weights because it was the only thing I could do, but God blessed me and it worked out in the end," Chandler told UFC.
