Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland has spoken out on why Alex Pereira won't be returning to the division again.
"When you get used to a new weight class, even the thought of going back seems awful. Pereira is probably ready to fight at flyweight any day of the week, it's his division. A fight with Rountree sounds classy for him.
I remember meeting Alex before his last fight at middleweight. He looked like a corpse. I had just come to greet him and he looked like he was about to hoof it after the weigh-in. I thought it was a bad thing. He really should have gone to a higher division. Luckily for us middleweights, Alex is not likely to come back," Strickland told ESPN.
