Covington expects to fight "Rat" Rakhmonov for the title by the end of next year

UFC welterweight Colby Covington is confident of a title fight with Shavkat Rakhmonov before the end of 2025.

"By the end of next year, me and that rat Shavkat are going to fight for the title. I'm going to get back in the octagon and give my best for the UFC and my fans. Right now, I need to talk to matchmakers to discuss all the opportunities available to fight for the belt. People know it's my destiny to be champion. And I know that too. I don't think there's anything special about Shawkat. His style is to fight with his chin high. In his last fight, he beat Stephen Thompson. But I don't think that's a good reason to fight for the title. Shavkat has beaten a lot of unknown guys and hasn't faced any top contenders yet. There are a lot of questions, but one thing I know for sure is that I have the skills to beat anyone in the world," Bloody Elbow quoted Covington as saying.
