Makhachev to keep his gloves after his fight with Puryear

Islam Makhachev, UFC lightweight champion, said he plans to keep his gloves for his fight with Dustin Porier. It's worth noting that Islam's fight with Dustin will be the first time golden gloves will be used.

"I didn't see much difference. I felt that they are stiffer. They don't let you open your hand fully, so your fingers don't look forward. Otherwise, it's the same. But I'm gonna put them in a frame. With a belt. Like the first gold gloves in the UFC. I think that means a lot. I think I'm gonna keep it. I've never kept one until now. After the fight, they take them right away - the guys or whoever asks for them. But I think I'll keep these.

Recall, the fight between Makhachev and Puryear will take place on June 1 and will headline UFC 302.
