O'Malley paid more in taxes last year than he earned.

Sean O'Malley, the UFC lightweight champion, said he paid more in taxes than he earned from the promotion last year.

"My goal was always to become a multi-millionaire. I wanted to make a lot of money. You can make a lot of money in the UFC without talking trash or being on social media or doing all that stuff. But it's going to be harder, you have to win 5,000 fights in a row. I paid more taxes than I made last year in the UFC. I made a lot of money from fights, but I made three times as much from social media. So it depends on your goals," O'Malley said during an appearance on Bradley Martin's Raw Talk.
