Gervonta "Tank" Davis, the unbeaten 31-year-old American boxing star, has escalated a long-running legal battle. According to TMZ Sports, Davis has filed a countersuit seeking more than $20 million from his ex-girlfriend, who previously accused him of physical abuse and false imprisonment.
In court filings, Davis flatly denies the allegations. He says he never struck the woman or held her against her will, and he describes the incident at a Miami strip club last fall as an extortion attempt. According to Davis, his accuser demanded $1.1 million in exchange for dropping both criminal and civil action.
Davis points to several details in his defense: he says the woman suffered no actual injuries, told her employer immediately after the alleged incident that she was fine, and then continued spending time with him, including staying overnight at her home. He also alleges that her lawsuit directly caused the collapse of one of the most lucrative fights of his career — a bout with Jake Paul that had been targeted for November 2025 and planned for Netflix. Davis estimates that fight would have paid him more than $20 million.
The countersuit was filed under a claim of tortious interference with business relations. Prosecutors had already dropped one of the more serious counts against Davis — false imprisonment — after determining it was excessive, though other charges remain pending.
