According to esteemed insider Dan Rafael, unified light heavyweight world champion Dmitry Bivol will defend his IBF title against mandatory challenger Michael Eifert on May 23 in Giza, Egypt.
The fight is scheduled as part of a grand boxing evening, with the main event being a match between heavyweight leader Oleksandr Usyk and kickboxer Rico Verhoeven.
The organizers intentionally chose a historical location against the backdrop of the famous Giza pyramids, which will add a unique atmosphere to the event and attract the attention of a world audience.
For Bivol, this fight will be his first after more than a year-long break: in February last year, he won against Artur Beterbiev and unified all major belts in the division. Later, the Russian relinquished the WBC title in favor of David Benavidez.
