On April 9, a fight for the vacant IBF world super middleweight title will take place in Montreal between Osleys Iglesias (14-0, 13 KO) and Pavel Silyagin (16-0-1, 7 KO). This title previously belonged to Terence Crawford, who recently announced his retirement.
Previous offers for the vacant IBF title fight before Iglesias were made to Saul Alvarez and Jaime Munguia, among others. Silyagin's last fight took place in July when he won by points against Pablo Corso.
Last year, Iglesias had only one fight. In September, the Cuban knocked out Vladimir Shishkin in a fight for the IBO title. The teams of Iglesias and Silyagin reached an agreement without a purse bid for the April fight.
