Froch Dismisses Fury's Comeback: "It's Pointless"

Former super middleweight world champion Carl Froch once again couldn't contain his emotions while commenting on Tyson Fury's decision to resume his career in 2026 after more than a year away from the ring.

According to Froch, the 37-year-old "Gypsy King," who announced his comeback after two losses to Oleksandr Usyk, has already exhausted the credit of trust from fans and experts.

"Who even cares about the return of a 37-year-old guy who hasn't fought in over a year? Who's interested?" Froch said in a recent interview. "I don't want to diminish Tyson, he's great, he has brought a lot to boxing. An excellent character, a vibrant personality. But honestly—I don't care if he comes back or not. It no longer bothers me."

Froch reminded that this is the fifth "farewell" for Fury from professional boxing. "When he left last time, I immediately knew—he would come back. And here he is again. But there's no point in it. Three last significant fights—and he was beaten in each of them. First a controversial victory over Ngannou, then twice Usyk. And now—a year off and a comeback. Why?"

"If he really wants to return to the fold and once again become a top-tier world-level fighter—then please, face young and hungry opponents. Against Moses Itauma or Agit Kabayel, for example. That would be interesting. But as it is... pointless," Froch concluded.
